Are your students timid about reciting Shakespeare aloud in front of their classmates? Help them connect with each line of a Shakespeare text in a novel way.
Shakespeare’s plays are perfect for Plotagon, in part because they already are divided into separate lines, making it easy to put them into scripts.
Have your students choose a one- or two-character text from a Shakespeare play that you are studying in class. They can either type the lines into Plotagon or find the digital text online (a quick Google search), and copy and paste each script.
Students should study the text to decipher the meaning of each line, choose the most appropriate facial expressions, and record their own dialogue. Then they can choose either contemporary or modern scenes and clothing.
